May 25 ,1986 ) is an Americanmurderer who was one of two shooters in the Jonesboro, Arkansas school shooting. The other was his cousin, Mitchell Johnson. Golden was 11 years old at the time of the shooting.Crime
Most of the firearms used in the offense were stolen from Golden's grandfather. A witness said that Golden had pulled a fire alarm inside the school. When teachers and students filed outside, he and Mitchell opened fire. An
M1 rifle was taken from Golden after his capture.Ballistics tests proved that it was the weapon that had killed two of the children and injured a third. Investigators say that they were running toward a white van filled with guns, knives, and many weapons, which was indeed the van they had driven there to the crime scene.By all accounts, Golden came from a stable home. He was also very close to his grandparents and often visited their house on his way to school. He was raised to be familiar with guns and their use at an early age; he was given his first firearm when he was six.
Golden's schoolmates described him as a
bully who was very quick to pick fights, and often used obscene language. A classmate once accused him of killing her cat with aBB gun .Imprisonment
Because of his age at the time of the shooting, Golden was originally to be released on his 18th birthday; due to federal gun charges, however, he was kept in confinement for another three years and released on his 21st birthday. His exact whereabouts are unknown, but he is known to be living in
Arkansas under an assumed name. He completed his civil casedeposition onMay 6 ,2008 . [ [http://www.kait8.com/global/story.asp?s=8171798 KAIT - Jonesboro, AR: Second WestSide Shooter Served ] ]References
