suburb of Richmond. The railroad still passes through, operated by theBuckingham Branch Railroad , a Virginia-basedshort line railroad .Beaverdam Elementary School ofHanover County Public Schools celebrated their centennial anniversary in 2006.Beaverdam is the home to many folklore superstitions, the most prominent being "Dead Ron's Curve", a sharp turn in the road that is said to be haunted by the ghost of a doddering old drunk man who crashed his truck there some time ago.
According to one bearded, stuttering resident, Beaverdam is "blowing up" and will soon be "on the map".
