Imogen Cooper, CBE (born
August 28 ,1949 ) is an English pianist.Born in London, she is the daughter of the musicologist
Martin Cooper . She studied piano inLondon withKathleen Long , inParis withJacques Février andYvonne Lefébure , and inVienna withAlfred Brendel ,Jörg Demus andPaul Badura-Skoda . She is particularly known for her interpretations of Schubert and Schumann, but she has also been involved in modern music, giving the premières of works such as "Traced Overhead" byThomas Adès .She was appointed CBE in the 2007 New Year Honours List.
