Alexander Leonidovich Chernogorov (born
July 13 ,1959 inVozdvizhenka ,Stavropol Krai ,Russia ) is the governor of Stavropol Krai in the southernEurope an part of Russia. As candidate for theCommunist s he defeated his predecessorPetr Marchenko in 1996, and was re-elected governor in 2000. Chernogorov was the leader of theKomsomol and a member of theState Duma . He holds the military rank ofcaptain .
