Pavel Alandsky

Pavel Ivanovich Alandsky ( _ru. Па́вел Ива́нович Ала́ндский) (June 29, 1844, St. Petersburg Guberniya–October 28, 1883, Kiev), a Russian classical philologist and historian, specialist in history of ancient Greece and Rome. Graduated from St. Petersburg University in 1870. Pupil of the prominent Russian classical scholars Mikhail Kutorga and Karl Lugebil; classmate of L.F. Voevodsky and I.V. Tsvetaev. In 1873–1874 taught at the St. Petersburg University; in 1874 became a lecturer in the University of St. Vladimir (Kiev); since 1878 also taught at the Kiev Institute of Higher Education for Women.
