Žanamari Lalić

Žanamari Lalić (born September 8, 1981 in Makarska) is Croatian pop singer best known as the winner of "Hrvatski idol", Croatian equivalent of "Pop Idol".

Žanamari is a famous, young, talented, and attractive Croatian pop-singer, winner of the title The First Croatian Pop Idol. She was born and raised at the Adriatic coast, and in the early childhood embraced music as a way of expressing herself. Since 1989 she started winning all kinds of music contests in Croatia, performing on different festivals, happenings, radio, TV-shows, took piano-, guitar-, and singing- lessons etc. With sixteen she became a lead singer in a band, and during five years performed in every popular club and open stage in the region. Since education always played an important role in her life she decided to study Hotel and Resort Management at the American College for Management and Technology (R I T Rochester Institute of Technology, New York) in Dubrovnik, Croatia, and graduated in 2001. After getting hotel management degree in Dubrovnik, she traveled to Germany to pursue music career. In the meantime her hobby was modeling, which resulted with winning of the title Miss Photogenic of Dalmatia 2000. After graduation she completely dedicated herself to music career.

Her first single for German market Feels Like Heaven was published in 2002 by Clubware Records (Germany). In 2003 she took part in a TV-casting "Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar" (R T L Television), and, among 19.500 young talented people, made it to the Top 50. With that achievement she gained media attention and her first fans in Germany. Next step was winning that same contest (Pop Idol) in Croatia. After she became Croatian Pop Idol (NOV@ TV) Žanamari released her first single in Croatia, "Treba mi snage za kraj" (I Need Strength To The End), which rocked the Croatian music charts. During the year 2004 and 2005 she performed on every important festival and music TV-show in Croatia (Glazbena Fjera Split 2004 - Summer Hit Parade, Zadarfest 2004 Awarded for best performance and choreography, Dora 2005 - HRT 1, Studio 10 - HRT 1, HRF 2005 - Festival of 100 radio stations etc.). She also supported and took part in almost all bigger humanitarian actions and concerts in Croatia.

Her first solo album "Žanamari" was released in August 2005 by Croatia Records. This multimedia CD contains 12 new songs, 4 remixes, and 2 music videos by Žanamari. Most popular Croatian authors and producers, including international writers and producers from Germany and USA, together with Žanamariherself are responsible for the great sound of her unique urban-pop music, with the touch of soul and rnb. Now she is writing, composing and recording new material in English for USA and European market.
