Leclanché S.A. was established in
Yverdon-les-Bains ,Switzerland in 1909. During the early years Leclanché designed, developed and manufactureddry cell s (primary batteries) andlighting equipment , and already from the beginning-1920's diversified intocapacitor s, and later, rechargeable batteries (secondary batteries) and associated systems.Today, the Leclanché Group of companies employs about 80 people in Switzerland and Germany, and is also available through an international network of partners and agents. Recognized as one of the few companies in the world to have a complete product line in electrical energy storage, Leclanché has a very large business spectrum with more than 60% dedicated to industry & OEM applications.
The "Integration" business unit focuses on the development of high-end battery solutions for aeronautics, medical and military applications. Currently, two Li-ion batteries are developed for the French
