Lisa M. Rea (born 1958) is a
restorative justice specialist and president of the Justice and Reconciliation Project (JRP), a nationalnon-profit organization that she founded in 2001. JRP promotes an approach to criminal justice that seeks to restore victims of crime and communities while holding offenders accountable to victims. She previously worked as California director of Justice Fellowship, the criminal justice reform branch of Prison Fellowship Ministries in Washington, DC.She has served on the staffs of three members of the California Legislature and has worked in government relations on a range of subjects, including healthcare, welfare reform, and water policy initiatives. Additionally, she has worked as a legislative advocate for the
American Heart Association , focusing on policies that prevent heart disease and stroke, including tobacco control and prevention.Rea was a candidate for Congress in the 2006 Democratic primary in
California's 4th congressional district . Her campaign stressed the importance of ethics and accountability in government; protecting the health and safety of children and families; honoring elders through policies that protect and enhance their lives; and being good stewards of the environment.Lisa Rea lives in
