Cadder is a district within East Dunbartonshire 7 km north of the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated 0.5 km south of the River Kelvin, and approximately 1.5 km north-east of Bishopbriggs. It should not be confused with a City of Glasgow council housing scheme (estate) of a similar name, but generally pronounced Caw-der, in the district of Lambhill some 4 Km west, which was built in the early 1950's. Similarly, at the original Cadder, there is Cawder Golf Club, which additionally assists in this ongoing confusion! In antiquity, Cadder was the site of a Roman fort. Cadder has a well-known cemetery. [ [http://www.glasgowguide.co.uk/images_cadder_cemetery.html Glasgow Guide Cadder Cemetery] ]
