Nickelodeon Family Suites is a Holiday Inn hotel in Orlando, Florida, near the Universal Orlando Resort and one mile from Walt Disney World Resort. The hotel is themed with properties from the Nickelodeon television channel. The hotel houses the SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D theater, which opened in 2008, and the time capsule originally buried in 1992 at Nickelodeon Studios.
History
The Nickelodeon Studios attraction at Universal Studios Florida closed only a few weeks before the opening of the hotel. This hotel has opted out of a contract renewal with IHG and will soon no longer feature the Holiday Inn FlagFact|date=July 2008. At this time, it isn't clear if the property will become a member of the Marriott family of hotels, Since under a new contract with Viacom (owner of Nickelodeon), a new multi-resort hotels will open and be called "Nickelodeon Resorts by Marriott."
