Breckenreid, Ontario

Breckenreid is a village in Ontario in the county of Perth, approximately 200 kilometers west of Toronto. It was founded in 1894 and was expanding until 1913 when a major fire destroyed much of the main street's buildings. As of 2004 it has a population of slightly less than 400. It is notable for its hot water springs which are used for recreation and also provide a source of electricity for the neighbouring city of St. Marys.

The Forests are almost exclusively maple in the surrounding provincial parklands.
