3rd Wish is an American boygroup. The group consists of Ricky Gonzales (who is of Puerto Rican ancestry), Justin Martin and Alex Acosta (who is of Cuban ancestry). They have had a top 10 hit with "Obsesión" and are known for their songs "I Am" and "Niña". The genres of their music are R&B and hip hop.

Background

Obsesion was originally recorded and released by Latin group Aventura, hitting #1 in France, Germany, Italy, Holland and Belgium plus 2 weeks at the top of the Europe-wide chart and selling 1.5 million copies in the process.

American group 3rd Wish discovered the track and together with U.S. R&B sensation Baby Bash, re-recorded the track predominately in English and again the song reached the upper parts of the European charts.

3rd Wish are neither a casted boy band or a 9-day wonder. The group have worked and lived together for years and are all accomplished musicians and songwriters.

Each member brought their own talent, flavour and style to the group: Ricky is Puerto Rican, Alex is Cuban and Justin is pure American. They decided to mix their different styles and that’s how they developed their amazing Latin Pop-R&B sound.
