Based in Dunedin, his usual subjects are sports icons.
Before turning his hand to drawing, Webb played first-class cricket for Otago and represented New Zealand in three Test matches from 1971 to 1974. His younger brother Richard was also a pace bowler who played for Otago; Richard also represented New Zealand, but as a one-day player.
