South America n species of freshwater long-whiskeredcatfish that inhabits the basin of theRío de la Plata and theBlanco River . Its scientific name originates from its common name "patí", though it may be simply referred to as "pez gato" ("catfish") in Spanish.FishBase_species|genus=Luciopimelodus|species=pati|year=2007|month=Apr]It is found mostly in turbid and deep waters with moderate current. This fish can reach up to about 103 cm. This fish is sparingly seen as an aquarium fish.
