- World Mayor
World Mayor is an award organized by
City Mayors since 2004. It intends to raise the profile ofmayor s worldwide, as well as honour those who have served their communities well and who have contributed to the well-being of cities, nationally and internationally. The organizers make it plain that the award has no connection with any city or organization and is run on strictly non-commercial lines. The choice of the winners is based on the number of votes mayors receive via the website and the quality and passion of comments, which support their candidacies.
The list of 10 finalists for the 2008 World Mayor Award has now been published [http://www.worldmayor.com/contest_2008/world-mayor-vote.html] , with a decision on the winners due in October 2008.
