International Women's Writing Guild

The International Women's Writing Guild, founded in 1976 by Hannelore Hahn, is a non-profit network for the personal and professional empowerment of women through writing. Begun as a small support group, today the IWWG is an official Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council and has thousands of members worldwide. The IWWG is fiscally managed by the New York Foundation for the Arts.

The IWWG sponsors an annual week-long writing conference (which draws an average of 500 participants) for women writers at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, as well as a variety of regional events throughout the year. Regional Representatives volunteer time to organize round table discussions in their local areas and offer mentoring to other writers. Through its various conferences and programs and its bi-monthly newsletter, "Network," the IWWG promotes connection and the development of a strong, authentic voice in its members, in addition to various other membership benefits.

All experience levels and areas of writing interest are welcome, and no portfolio is necessary to join.
