It is on the west side of the valley of the river Cuch, Glyn Cuch, connected with the realm ofAnnwn in the ancient Welsh tale of Pwyll Pendefig Dyfed, the first of the Four Branches of the Mabinogi. The Cuch ends just outside of the village where it joins the largerriver Teifi which eventually empties into the sea at the town of Cardigan a few miles away.References
