ntupdate =Sean Hessey (born
19 September 1978 , in Whiston,South Yorkshire ) is an English professional footballer who currently plays as a defender for Macclesfield Town.Hessey previously played for Wigan Athletic, Huddersfield Town, Kilmarnock,Blackpool and Chester City.
His time at Kilmarnock was a frustrating one and he did not play as often as he'd of hoped mainly due to the form of more experienced players such as
Gus MacPherson andAlly Mitchell .Hessey joined Chester after the club were promoted back to the
Football League in 2004 and was a first-choice player for much of his first three years at the club, although he quite often missed games because of injury and suspension problems. The most notable was a five-match ban at the start of the 2006-07 season after an incident in the home game againstStockport County the previous season. [Cite news

Bobby Williamson , who managed Hessey at Kilmarnock, placed him on the transfer window in the summer of 2007. He did not figure in the Chester 16-man matchday squad in any game for the 2007–08 season and was allowed to join League Two rivals Macclesfield Town onNovember 10 2007 in a two-month loan. In January 2008, this was extended until the end of the season. [Cite news
