Ubuntulite is an operating system for slow computers. It's based on Ubuntu, but is not an official project by Canonical Ltd.

Ubuntulite is an independent project to create a distribution based on Ubuntu capable to run on so limited hardware as an Intel 486DX at 66 MHz with 32 MB of RAM memory. Opposed to other variants of Ubuntu, Ubuntulite is focused on software packages with low resource consumption. Currently ships with the LXDE desktop environment that use like default window manager Openbox.

Trademark issues

On September 10th, Canonical emailed the Ubuntulite developers complaining the project's use of Canonical's names, URLs, and logos violates Canonical's trademarks.
