Lionel Tarassenko

Professor Lionel Tarassenko is the current holder of the Chair in Electrical Engineering at the University of Oxford, and is most noted for his work on the applications of neural networks. He led the development of the Sharp LogiCook, the first microwave oven to incorporate neural networks.

Born in Paris in 1957, Professor Tarassenko was elected to a Fellowship of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) in 1996, and to a Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2000. He is a practicing Christian.
