- Yorkshire Ring
The Yorkshire Ring is a
canal ring in South andWest Yorkshire ,England . It was completed in 1905 with the construction of theNew Junction Canal . It lasted for under thirty years before the closure of part of theDearne and Dove Canal and subsequently the completeBarnsley Canal . Both these canals are currently under restoration.Timeline

Stainforth and Keadby Canal and theAire and Calder Navigation .;1888:TheSheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation Company is created, and eventually succeeds in taking over control of theRiver Don Navigation , Stainforth and Keadby Canal, Dearne and Dove Canal, Barnsley Canal and theSheffield Canal from theManchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Company in 1895.
