Butch Beard played college basketball at theUniversity of Louisville . Additionally, Beard led Breckinridge County High School to the 1965 Kentucky State Championship.Beard played nine seasons (1969-1970; 1971-1979) with five teams: the
Atlanta Hawks , theCleveland Cavaliers , theSeattle SuperSonics , theGolden State Warriors , and theNew York Knicks . He scored 5,622 career points and represented Cleveland in the1972 NBA All-Star Game . He later served as head coach of theNew Jersey Nets in the 1990s.External links
