Kevin Canty is the American author of three novels ("Into the Great Wide Open", "Nine Below Zero", and "Winslow in Love") and two collections of short stories ("A Stranger in This World" and "Honeymoon"). He is a faculty member at the University of Montana at Missoula in the English department, where he currently resides. Canty is a master at illustrating the humor, absurdity, and poignancy of life, even at its most mundane moments.

Kevin Canty is also the brother of musicians Brendan Canty and James Canty.
