Fereydoon Family (born
September 18 ,1945 ) is a leading Persian physicist in the field ofnanotechnology andsolid-state physics . He is currentlySamuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Physics and memberof the Emerson Center for Scientific Computation atEmory University in Atlanta, Georgia He is an elected fellow of TheAmerican Physical Society , and recipient of the Southeastern Section of the American Physical Society’s highest honor, the J. He received his B. S. Degree in Physics from
Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1968 and his Ph.D inphysics atClark University in 1974. He also has been a Visiting Scientist at the Institute for TheoreticalPhysics at theUniversity of California at Santa Barbara and Visiting Associate Professor of Chemistry atMassachusetts Institute of Technology .Publications
