Walsh University is a private not-for-profit, 4-year, Roman Catholic university in North Canton, Ohio, USA. It was founded in 1958 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction, initially as a liberal arts college. Walsh College gained "University" status in 1981 when it introduced its first graduate program. Walsh University's motto is "A Catholic University of Distinction."

Walsh University is made up of nineteen buildings on a convert|140|acre|km2|sing=on campus. In 2006, there were approximately 2,500 students attending the University. About 75% of incoming freshman reside on campus.

Walsh's current President is Richard Jusseaume ('67).

Walsh University offers the following degrees: Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed); Doctorate of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.); Master of Arts in Business Administration (M.B.A.); Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Development; Master of Arts in Theology; Bachelor of Arts (B.A.); Bachelor of Science (B.S.); Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S. in Ed.); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.); Associate of Arts (A.A.); and Associate of Science in Computer Science (A.S.C.S.).

In total, Walsh University offers 50 majors, five graduate programs, and accelerated degrees for working adults. About half of the student body live on campus in one of nine residence halls. Walsh University used to offer only a Liberal Arts curriculum. Today the 2,500 students can choose from 50 undergraduate majors and 5 graduate degrees.

While both are Catholic educational institutions of the same name and close location, Walsh is unaffiliated with (and sometimes confused with) nearby Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls.

Walsh University is the owner of North Canton's Hoover Park, which was formally owned by the Hoover Company [http://www.walsh.edu/pdf/HooverBroch05.pdf (Park Brochure)] . The park is home to the Hoover Historical Center.

Walsh's nursing program has a 100% passage rate of the National Counsel of Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses for three years running.

Walsh University was the men's 2004-2005 NAIA National Basketball Champions. They are coached by Jeff Young (JY) [http://www.walsh.edu/images/uploads/img1695.jpgYoung] . Robert Whaley was named the NAIA MVP, and was later drafted by the Utah Jazz.
