The film was produced by Mosnauchfilm (Моснаучфильм), directed by Agasi Babayan (Агаси Бабаян) with screenwriter Igor Bolgarin (Игорь Болгарин) and featuring Adolf Shestakov (Адольф Шестаков) and Kasym Zhakibayev (Касым Жакибаев).
The film won the Golden Wolf at the 1961 Bucharest Film Festival
