Alexander Ilyin

Alexander Ilyin

Alexander Ilyin is a Russian engineer turned mathematician, who according to some press-reports found a simpler proof of Fermat's last theorem than Andrew Wiles. He even presented his 'proof' on direct TV translation. Most mathematicians who saw the 'proof' on TV or in newspaper articles consider it nonsense.
