Vernon Alfred Washington (August 10, 1927 – June 7, 1988) is an American actor who has starred in film and on television. He is best known for his roles in the 1984 science fiction movie "The Last Starfighter" as Otis and in the 1985 horror movie "" as George.

His best known television role may have been in the 1979 miniseries "" as Rev. Mills. Vernon has had a small recurring role on the CBS hit series "The Jeffersons" as Leroy.
