It is approximately thirty minutes drive from the AdelaideCentral business district .The suburb is named after the home of
Charles Sturt which he built on 500 acres (2 km²) allocated to him in1842 . "The Grange" cottage is still standing on the bank of the upper reaches of thePort River , next to the local primary school. Sturt's farm was subdivided in1878 by a private company intending to establish a beach resort. Grange jetty was built in 1882.References
