Sally Barsosio (born
March 21 ,1978 inKeiyo District ) is aKenya n distance runner.As of 2005 , Barsosio is the youngest ever medallist at theWorld Junior Championships in Athletics . In 1993, aged 15 years 182 days, she won the 10,000 m bronze medal at the Stuttgart World Athletics Championships after initially being disqualified for impeding fellow runners, most notablyElana Meyer who rather dramatically dropped out of the race.Sally returned to the world championships in 1995 where she was 11th and in 1997 where she won 10,000 m gold, becoming the first Kenyan woman to win a senior track title.
She trains with
PACE Sports Management and is coached byRicky Simms .Her sister,
Florence Barsosio , is also an international runner.External links
