Jian Shuo

Jian Shuo

Jian Shuo (寋碩) (d. 189) was the leader of the Eunuch Faction of the Han imperial court in China, along with Zhang Rang. He eventually became a leading member of the Ten Attendants, who became the most powerful Eunuchs during the time. When Emperor Ling died in 189, Jian wanted to make his younger son Liu Xie emperor and wanted to kill Empress He's brother, He Jin (the uncle of Emperor Ling's older son Liu Bian), but was instead discovered by He Jin, and his plot was foiled. After Prince Bian became emperor, He Jin had Jian arrested and executed.
