Stadium = Civic StadiumThe 1930 British Empire Games were the first of what later become known as the Commonwealth Games, and were held in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada from August 16-23 1930.
The events included Athletics, Boxing, Lawn Bowls, Rowing, Swimming, and Wrestling. In the double sculls event, only Canada was represented, so the organisers simply invited a couple of crews from the United States to provide some opposition.
