Hibbert was born in Merseyside and brought up in
Huyton . He was a member of the Everton youth team that won theFA Youth Cup in 1998, and made his first team debut for the club in their 2–0 win against West Ham United in 2001. Originally amidfielder , Hibbert has adapted his game and is now a regular at right back. In July 2005 he signed a four-year deal with his hometown club.
