artificial lake in theCanberra district of Tuggeranong. Thelake was built in 1987 coinciding withurban development in the district. The lake was built as asediment trap to stop sediment from entering theMurrumbidgee River .Surroundings of the Lake include Tuggeranong Pool,
Tuggeranong Hyperdome ,McDonalds , many publicbarbecue s and recreation areas and anAustralian Federal Police station.The lake is a popular recreational site. The foreshore of the lake is parkland, with swimming, fishing, wind-surfing and non-motorised boating all possible activities on the lake. A bicycle path surrounds the lake. On the edge of the lake is the Tuggeranong library,
Lake Tuggeranong College and theTuggeranong Arts Centre .
