"Blood on the Dance Floor" is a song by Michael Jackson, from his 1997 remix album "." When released as a single it was a #1 hit for Jackson in the UK, his seventh and final UK #1 to date. It only reached #42 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was included on the international version of the "Number Ones" compilation album in 2003, but was left off 2005's "The Essential Michael Jackson".

Music video

The video was filmed in the Netherlands and was shot during the HIStory tour. The video starts with a knife being thrown onto a wall saying "Susie + me" and Jackson (wearing his hair in a braid) walking into a salsa club. A woman in a red dress named Susie walks up to him then climbs up on the table and starts to dance. Jackson, smitten by this point, sings about her. The video concludes with them dancing together and on the same note it started with a knife in the wall.

The music video was edited after its initial release because it was seen as too sexually suggestive. Portions removed included Jackson rubbing the girl's hips and a scene showing the girl with a flick knife.
