Vladimir Antyufeyev

Vladimir Antyufeyev (Владимир Антюфéев), also known under the assumed names Vladimir Aleksandrov and Vladimir Shevtsov (born on February 19, 1951) is the minister of state security of Transnistria. He is a Transnistrian citizen of Russian origin born in Novosibirsk, in SiberiaOfficial Journal of the European Union, [http://europa.eu/eur-lex/pri/en/oj/dat/2004/l_055/l_05520040224en00680069.pdf "Council Common Position 2004/179/CFSP"] 23 February 2004] who grew up in Magadan. Among the roles of the Ministry of State Security ("MGB", short for "Ministerstvo Gosudrstvennoi Bezopasnosti") of Transnistria are intelligence and counter-intelligence.

Antyufeyev is a former Deputy Department Chief of the Latvian SSR police and major of
Riga's OMON (Special Purpose Militia Detachments), an MVD unit. According to Antyufeyev, he was assigned by Viktor Alksnis to strengthen Transnistria's security forces in 1992, under the name "Shevtsov". His real name was revealed in 1997 by the general of 14th Army, Aleksandr Lebed.

The Prosecutor of Moldova indicted him in 2004 for crimes against the Moldovan state and freeing a subaltern who was accused of several assassinations. Also in 2004, the European Union included him on a list of Transnistrians banned from travel within the EU.

Vladimir Antyufeyev is married to Galina Antyufeyeva, a congresswoman who, as a member of Transnistria's parliament, is head of the committee on legislation.
