The City of Oxnard has over 20 miles of coastline. The beaches in Oxnard are large and the sand is very soft. The sand dunes in Oxnard are massive. There are very few rocks or driftwood at many of the beaches, but Oxnard is known to have dangerous rip-currents on some beaches during different times of year. Surf can at times reach heights of up to 15 foot break.
Description
Starting at Oxnard State Beach, there are walkways under palm trees. Pathways lead through the dunes and to the beach. In spring there are wildflowers. Residents come here to walk their pets and enjoy sunshine. During winter months the weather can be cold and windy. Oxnard Beach Park includes two spacious barbecue areas with a capacity of 200 occupants in which each include a public sink, table, and a large grill.
