Khinialon

Khinialon

Khinialon (Chinialus) was ruler of the Kutrigurs from the 540s until 551. Prior to him there are only four Kutrigur Leaders names given. Two of these are also given in alternative sources as leaders for the Utigurs (Grod 520s-528 and Mugel 528-530s). The last names in the chain back to Attila are Kutrigur of the 540s then Dengizik (2nd son of Attila) 453-469. The connection to Attila is probably romantic rather than factual in nature while Khan Kutrigur was certainly a descendant of the Kidarite dynasty of Baktria.
