Description

Other People's Photographs is a permanent public art installation consisting of 540 street signs that has been produced using personal photographs of families and friends taken outside in the streets of Folkestone, Cheriton and Sandgate. These images, dating from 1897 to 2008, have been returned to the locations in which they were taken, imprinting private memories onto the contemporary landscape. All 1650 photographs lent for the project are also accessible on a sophisticated interactive map of the town — a virtual network of streets and photographs.
