Among the core and elective subjects, Other Learning Experiences (OLE) is also required under the NSS (New Senior Secondary) Curriculum. Schools are required to make use of 15% of the lesson time for OLE in different areas. They include Aesthetic Development, Physical Development, Career-related Experiences, Community Service, Moral and Civic Education.

Requirements of OLE in NSS Curriculum
Under the three-year New Senior Secondary Curriculum, Other Learning Experiences is very important to students because it takes at least 15% to 35% of Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education. The minimum lesson time required is 405 hours for students throughout the three years of NSS education.
Areas of OLE
Moral and Civic Education
Through different lessons and learning experience, students can develop right value judgements and maintain positive attitudes towards lives. When students face different issues related to the society, personal growth or the globe, they can make good uses of what they have learnt in OLE.
Moral and Civic Education includes :

- - Environmental Education
- - Health Education
- - Human Rights Education
Community Service
Community service is a method to teach students about citizenship, life skills. The aim of community service is to let student learn from doing volunteer works or other community service in order to enhance their communication skills, creativity and the ability of critical thinking.
Community Service includes :
- - Volunteer work
- - Doing school services (e.g. prefects, librarian, class monitor)
- - Visits to local service units (e.g. Elderly homes)
- - Clean Hong Kong
- - Participate in neighborhood regeneration project
Through OLE, students can understand more on different occupations of different areas. OLE helps students to expand the contact with their future careers.Students can increase their employability, adaptability and competitiveness for their careers.
Career-related Experiences includes :
- - Running real businesses guided by teachers/ experienced experts
- - meeting authentic experts and business people
- - Information Interview with Career Experts
- - Workplace Visits
Aesthetic Development
Aesthetic Development plays an important role in helping students to lead a healthy life and achieve whole-person development. Through appreciating, creating, performing and reflecting can help individual students to develop their specialisation in arts areas.
Aesthetic Development includes :
- - respond, analyse and interpret art works
- - employ appropriate art forms, media and techniques for presentation of ideas
- - actively participate in self-selected art activities
Physical Development
Physical development aims to develop students' physical competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle. Besides, it develop students' confidence and social skills.
Physical Development includes :
- - Joining athletics teams
- - Physical Education lessons provided by schools
- - Participate diversified activities related to Physical Education
- - Analyze physical movement
