History of Oshimili North
The indigenes of the Local Government are Anioma but each of the communities comprising the Local Government has its distinct history of origin. While Ibusa traces its origin to Nri and Isu, there are other communities that trace their origin to Ezechime, a migrant from Benin. The Illah community is a hereterogenous society made up primarily of the 5 aborigene brothers, Agu, Utei, Edem, Nwabuku and Iyagbo. the geography of Illah spanned up to a third of the total Oshimili North space but are not proportionately occupied. Illah are more of migrant farmers and fishermen thus their relationship with Asaba.
