Orrvar Dalby (born 1952) is the acting Secretary-General at Norwegian People's Aid.[1][2]
Orrvar Dalby comes from the position as Director of International Programme Department in NPA for the last three years. He has previously worked as Director of International Programmes in Save the Children Norway, 10 years as Chief Executive (Rådmann) in Hurum and Lier Municipality and has worked all together 30 years in Municipality Sector in Norway. He has participated and headed a number of election observation teams in Europe, Africa and Latin-America. Dalby is educated lawyer and holds a degree from The Norwegian Municipality and Social University College. He is 58 years old; he is married; has two own children; two “plus” children with his new wife and four grand children.
Dalby has been requested and agreed to hold the position as Acting Secretary General until after the Fourth Annual Meeting of NPA (September) and the 2011 NRK Telethon on Mine Action (October). He will then go back to his ordinary position as Director of International Programme Department.
