Ormesby is an 11-16 Co-educational Comprehensive School. The school currently has 843 pupils on roll. It is located in the Netherfields area of Middlesbrough in the North East of England. This area has its social problems but mostly it is a quiet area to live in.

It was decided to become an engineering specialist school as the area is famous for its engineering achievements and abilities. Recently a new engineering block was built to improve design technology facilities for the students.

As part of the Building Schools for the Future programme the school will relocate to a new eco friendly design, based on a natural curve in September 2010. This transition from an outdated design of narrow corridors, chalk boards and wooden flooring will provide students with a friendly and caring environment with excellent facilities so that students can achieve their best.

The local community is proud of the school because of its level of achievement and the way it encourages the best out of its students. The school has dramatically improved in exam results over the years. This gives students a strong sense of pride and boosts their confidence to kick start their futures.

Teachers make learning interesting and they know when you need help too succeed. Exciting curricular activities and enrichment programmes allow students to learn new skills. There are strong links to the Primary feeder schools through visits, lessons and links through engineering competitions
