Oreste Piro is a dynamical system theorist and biophysicist. He is currently at the Universitat delles Illes Balears in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. He is known for his studies of forced relaxation oscillators such as the exactly-solvable PiroGon oscillator, the dynamics of passive scalars in vortex flows, bailout embeddings, the influence of fluid mechanics on the development of left-right asymmetry, and the self-tuned critical network model.
