David Leimdörfer,
rabbi ; born at Hlinik,Hungary ,17 September 1851 ; educated at his native place and atZsolna ,Waitzen ,Budapest ,Presburg , andVienna . He became a chaplain in the Austro-Hungarian army; from 1875 to 1883 he was rabbi at Nordhausen, Prussia, and since 1883 he has been rabbi atHamburg , where he is also principal of the school for religion and of the Jewish high school for girls.
