Oleg Kozerod

Oleg Kozerod, Ph.D., D.Sc., (1970, Ukraine -) is a well-known journalist, history researcher and Doctor of Historical Sciences. Kozerod graduated from Kharkiv University in 1993.

Oleg Kozerod is widely recognized in Europe and the CIS as a talented journalist and writer. For many years he worked as a European reporter for several news agencies, including the World Jewish News Agency, and other news companies.

Since 2000, Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Political and Ethno-national Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 2001, a Visiting Fellow and Scholar at the Oxford Center for Hebrew and Jewish Studies, Academic Visitor at the European Humanities Research Center (University of Oxford). Since 2002, a publisher of The Achievements (a Russian-language British newspaper, established in 1927), joint Dutch PR company Open Space Europe (2008) and Charitable Foundation of the Kozerod Family (2009).

Oleg Kozerod is an author of hundreds of scientific and op-ed articles, and several monographs, including:

  • "Evrei Ukrainy v period novoi ekonomicheskoi politiki" [Ukrainian Jews during the New Economic Policy], Kiev, 2002 - 252 pp
  • "150 evreiskyh organizazyi Velikobritanii" [150 Jewish Organizations in Great Britain], 2006 -181 pp.

Oleg Kozerod is a well-known expert in the history of Ukraine, in the field of contemporary policy and national security of Great Britain and the European Union, including the history of the 20th century, terrorism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and interethnic relations. In 1996, he defended a Ph.D thesis on historiography of the White Movement in Ukraine. In 2009, Oleg Kozerod defended a D.Sc. thesis on the history of Ukrainian Jewry.

Oleg Kozerod is a member of numerous public and professional international organizations, including European Association for Jewish Studies and Oxford University Alumni Society.

Dr Kozerod in co-operation with Torgowy Dom Poland participated in the website and project development concerning the Polish weekly newspaper 'Tygodnik Jutrzenka' that would have to become a revived version of an old newspaper of the Jewish community in Poland issued there since 1861. The project was developed for a year in collaboration with the Jewish community in Poland and the Russian association of fellow-countrymen (http://www.tygodnikjutrzenka.com).
