Okenyi is a town located in the east of Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria.[1] It is home to the Igalas who migrated from Idah to come and settle in the area.[2]
it has a population of about 10 000 inhabitants. they people of Okenyi are farmers, and they engage in subsistence farming, farming basically cassava , maize, yam, and little of beans.They nature of their soil does not allow them to cultivate rice. The political structure has the Onu-okenyi as the paramount ruler, although a reigning chief assume the throne after the death of a former ruling chief
