Radič Postupović

Radič Postupović

Radič Postupović (comes palatinus, Serbian Cyrillic: Радич Поступовић, Раде Облачић also known as Rade Oblačić in Serbian epic poetry) was a 15th century Serbian squire, commander and knight and part of the Serbian knighthood called the Vlastela (nobles).

His father was Vojvoda Milutin, who died at the Battle of Kosovo.

Radic owned, under Djuradj Brankovic, villages like Beluce (Crnuce), Vraćevšnica, Rudnik itself, Prodanovci, Kamenica, Konjusa and more. He founded the Vraćevšnica Monastery in 1428-1429, an inscription in the south part of the Eastern wall of the vestibule proves it: "...This Holy Temple of God was delineated, finished and ornamented by the Great Captain Radic in the name of Celebrated Great Martyr Saint George in the summer of 1431."[1]

Besides Vraćevšnica Monastery, Radic also founded the monastery of Veliko Blagovestenje (Monastery of The Great Annunciation) in the Grabovcica village on river Grabovcica, first mentioned in 1429-1430.[1]

In Serbian epic poetry, he died at the Battle of Kosovo.
