Nottingham greyhound stadium is the home of greyhound racing in the East Midlands. It was voted ‘Central Region Racecourse of the Year’ by the British Greyhound Racing Board for 1998-1999 and also 2001-2002.[1]

Competitions

Nottingham Greyhound Stadium hosts some of greyhound racing’s most prestigious events such as the Eclipse, the Select Stakes and the Puppy Classic, with racing every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday throughout the year.[9]

Facilities

Restaurant

The 'Classics' restaurant offers reserved seating for 350 diners and a full table service for meals, drinks and tote betting.[10] The restaurant is glass fronted with a full view of the live greyhound racing at the stadium and is air-conditioned, with additional viewing available on TVs throughout. An extension to the restaurant and complete redevelopment of the upsairs facilities took place in 2008.

Fast Food

The snack bar downstairs caters for everyone, with a variety of food and seating both inside and outside.[11]

Bars

Three licensed bars are situated in the stadium;[12] the downstairs 'Paddock' bar and two newly refurbished upstairs bars offering a variety of beverages. Racing can be seen on any of the closed-circuit televisions or seen outside from the platforms.

Betting

There is tote betting points available throughout the stadium, along with three independent on-course bookmakers standing and William Hill having a booth. Betting is available on races at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium as well as other stadiums throughout the United Kingdom. There are also automated betting machines and an over-18s area with slot machines.

Location

Nottingham Greyhound Stadium is situated 3 miles from Nottingham City Centre on the A612 road next Nottingham Horse Racecourse and Colwick Park. Accessible by bus and train links into the city and situated next to a park & ride for easy parking.[13]
