Nita Marquez

Juanita Lee (Nita) Marquez (born May 30, 1973) was awarded Miss National Fitness 2008 by the United States National Physique Committee.

Her competitive fitness career has spanned 15 years and she is also a published author, actress and has appeared in numerous film roles and national television commercial campaigns.

Career/Fitness competitions

While Nita has earned her pro-card in the IFBB[clarification needed] ranks she still continues to pursue her entrepreneurial endeavors mainly by being a physical trainer and offering her services as a spokeswoman for fitness at different venues across the country, most notably Nita gave a lecture about fitness to over 400 soldiers in the National Guard. Also Nita heads several budding projects, through WEE inc (Women Empowering Each other) she has championed the continuation of education for single mothers with a scholarship fund. NitasFitnessDirectives.com is a company started by Nita to promote the exposure of fitness and health into the mainstream media. Her career interests extend into marketing and branding consulting for startup businesses, as well as life-coaching and team building for companies who seek to capitalize on company camaraderie.[citation needed]

Author

Published in 2008, Nita co-authored her book (Fit for Combat - When fitness is a matter of life or death) A template for customizing fitness programs that will help men and women lean out and sculpt their physique. Currently Nita is writing her second book as of yet untitled she states she wants to "pick up where her first book left off" and tackle the psychological back story of fitness/health in today's world. Also seeking to publish her book of poems which Nita describes as "Sometimes Dark" a lot of which are written about her personal trials in life and her thoughts in handling and overcoming the obstacles.

Nita has produced, starred and been a supporting cast member in a few limited release films as well as national television commercials for companies such as Lifelock.
